Working files, not lead magnets

Everything here is something I actually use, cleaned up so you can open it, edit it, and make it yours. It’s all plain text and markdown – no lock-in, no formats that die when a tool does. And no email gate: the files are yours either way.

The page starts small on purpose. I’d rather hand you three files that earn their place than thirty that pad a list.

first-file-template.mdcoming

The first file – a starter memory file for your AI

Everything I teach starts with one file: here’s who I am, here’s what I’m working on, here’s how I like things done. Tell your AI to read it first, every time. This is that file, with my structure and prompts for what to put in each section. Start tiny means start here.

The verify-before-you-ship checklist

AI will hand you a confident answer that’s quietly wrong. This is the checklist I run before anything AI-assisted ships under my name: source checks, citation checks, and the questions I literally type (“is that true,” “did you make this up”). One page. Boring. That’s why it works.

session-handoff.mdcoming soon

The session-handoff note

For when a long AI session has to end but the work doesn’t. A short template that captures the decisions made, the open threads, and what the next session needs to know – so tomorrow doesn’t start from zero. Save aggressively; the important stuff lives in files, not in the chat.

sentence-gate.mdcoming soon

The sentence gate – my three-question editing pass

Three questions I ask of every sentence before it survives: Is it easy for someone to understand? Who was my reader? Does it provide use? Plus the short list of AI tells I strip on the final pass. This is the slowdown that makes it good, on one page.

demo-vault-starter/in progress

The demo vault starter

A small, working example of the whole system – a handful of connected files you can open in Obsidian or any text editor and point an AI at, to see the mechanism before you build your own. It’s a demo I built for exactly this; my real vault stays private, and that’s the point.

New files go to the list first
